My uncle, aunt Jane and Owen Phibbs left town on the 9th of this month on a tour to Killarney and intend going to Limerick on their return. My uncle Kitt is very well. Mr. Irwin and his daughter left town about a fortnight ago, Mrs. Irwin and George intend going in a few days. Captain O'Malley is not married yet ... my uncle Frank Elwood leaves town in a few days.

It reads "I am happy to have it in my power to inform you that my Mama has got a young son. They are both very well. He is a very small child. She was confined on Monday. Papa would write but is just come from a long walk. I hope you will excuse this short letter as it is past post hour. Papa and Mama join me in love to you Grandmama and all friends at Ballinamore. I remain your affectionate and dutiful grandson Thomas Ormsby."

Mr. Hutton's on Summer Hill, last Monday week, I like it very well, there are eleven boarders and forty two day boys. My uncle and aunt Phibbs arrived here yesterday from England ... My uncle and aunt Elwood are in town ..." Includes a short letter from Anthony Ormsby to "Kitt" [his brother Christopher] in which he writes "I beg you will let us know how my father, mother and you all are ... Owen, Anne and Jane arrived on Saturday ... I have not got my deed as yet furnished as it must be signed by a number of Trenches ... They think everyone's business is to give way to theirs".
