Letter from Thomas Ormsby (1807-1836), Dublin, grandson, to Thomas Ormsby of Ballinamore, Co. Mayo. The letter is actually addressed to Adam Ormsby, Ballinamore Castle. It reads "I am happy to have it in my power to inform you that my Mama has got a young son. They are both very well. He is a very small child. She was confined on Monday. Papa would write but is just come from a long walk. I hope you will excuse this short letter as it is past post hour. Papa and Mama join me in love to you Grandmama and all friends at Ballinamore. I remain your affectionate and dutiful grandson Thomas Ormsby."
