Responses also include several to members of the public who requested autographs, sent gifts or Christmas cards/greetings, several regrets to invitations MR was unavailable to attend, several responses to letters of praise on MR's work including relating to United States of America President William Clinton's visit and addresses regarding the Famine, several responses relating to invitations for garden parties at Áras, responses to media interview requests, and responses from MR including to Brendan Mullen in relation to MR officially opening the archives at St Patrick's Hospital, Dublin, 15/12/1995; to Senator Edward Kennedy in relation to address she gave at Yale Law School which he had entered in to the Congressional Senate Record to mark International Human Rights Day, and which she had just received a copy of through his office 18/12/1995; to Noel Kissane, Education Officer, National Library of Ireland, thanking him for copy of their publication "The Irish Famine: A Documentary History", which marked the first year of centenary commemorations, 18/12/1995; to Ms Sarah Geoghegan and Ms Betty Roche in relation to the discovery of the body by Geoghagan of Mattie Swan (Roche's husband) in the grounds of Áras, and the trauma that caused [Swan had been sleeping rough in Phoenix Park near the grounds of the Áras, had died of a heart attack, and was discovered by Geoghagan while out jogging] 21/12/1995.
