Correspondence and other material including faxed (photocopied) press release from Department of the Taoiseach relating to meeting between Taoiseach Mr Charles J Haughey and U.K. Prime Minister John Major, in Government buildings, 04/12/1991, sent to Peter Ryan (PR), Secretary to the President, by Frank Murray (FM), Dept. of the Taoiseach, 04/12/1991; typed briefing note for President Mary Robinson (MR) ahead of meeting with Taoiseach, 05/12/1991, covering visit to United States, Northern Ireland, E.C. Council, foreign visits, interviews/legal advice, domestic and foreign policy, visitor centre and Áras improvements [Aras an Uachtaráin, the official residence of the President of Ireland], and Aides-De-Camp, and copy of letter sent by PR to FM, 25/11/1991, noting MR's concern over lack of any outward State visits in 1992, which she hoped could be addressed; typed note from PR relaying that Taoiseach would be calling for short meeting and listing which points would be covered , 05/12/1991; correspondence between FM and PR in relation to a proposed visit by MR to Northern Ireland, to a proposed meeting with the Women's Support Network and the Northern Ireland Women's European Platform, to venues and dates proposed, and to a speaking note received by FM from the British Ambassador when the latter called to Government buildings a few days previously, 09-18/12/1991; draft of message from MR to appear on new Áras website, welcoming the World Wide Web and highlighting its value in maintaining links with Irish diaspora, 30/12/19[91?] [Archivist's Note: The Web was invented by English computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee while at CERN in 1989 and opened to the public in 1991].
