Script from The Playboy of the Western World by J.M. Synge (performed in Mandarin with an all Chinese cast) and adapted by Gavin Quinn. Transposed to a modern setting of a hairdressers and foot massage parlour, otherwise known as a ‘Whore Dressers” on the outskirts of Beijing where the normal business of hairdressing takes place out front but there are other less mundane activities happening elsewhere on the premises.
Printed press release with information on the production; Letters to Pan Pan in response to invitation to attend the play at its Dublin production at Project Arts Centre, Dublin, received from the offices of President of Ireland, Mary McAleese (July, Sept, 2006), John O'Donoghue, Minister for Arts, Sport, and Tourism (Jul, Oct 2006), Zhang Wan Kun and Lan Faqing of the Beijing People's Art Theatre, China.
