Robinson requests his opinion on the placenames classification scheme he plans to use on the Burren map, and subsequent correspondence discusses the matter in detail. Difficulty arises over the spelling of Tobernafiaghanta, Glenulla, Knockloon, Kilnaloone, Caherahoagh, Lisheenaloughil, and Glencurran. (13 Jan 1976-24 Jun 1977) 13pp;

              File of correspondence between Tim Robinson and Michael (Pop) Mulqueeny / Micheál Ó Maolchaoine of the Aran Islands. Robinson asks Ó Maolchaoine for his thoughts on his map of Kilfenora, and requests information on Toberdane, Cabhail Betty, Knockloon, Lisdoonvarna Castle, and Sir Donat's Road.               Correspondence between Oliver Lloyd of the University of Bristol Speleological Society and Robinson. Lloyd is writing a paper, and wishes to be consistent in the language of his placenames, so he seeks verification on the correct English spellings of Cathair, Mhaol and Bheag. Carbon copy of a detailed reply from Robinson explaining his approach is contrary to the anglicisation of Irish placenames. Subsequent correspondence discusses the Irish Whitebeam.

              Carbon copy of a handwritten letter from Robinson to Etienne Rynne on the subject of local antiquities in Clare being stolen and sold. (31 Aug 1984) 1p;

              Correspondence between Paul Walsh of the Archaeological Branch of the Ordnance Survey and Tim Robinson. Walsh writes seeking information from Robinson on possible pre-historic burial structures on Slieve Carran, and encloses a photocopied article by the Burren Wildlife Foundation. Copy reply from Robinson who has found a reference to these structures in his diary from 1976. Two local sources believed them to be 19th century enclosures for storing cow dung. Letter from Walsh enclosing an offprint of an article he wrote with Carleton Jones a 'Recent Discoveries on Roughaun Hill, county Clare'. Also encloses a photocopied composite map of the Parnabinnia area with monuments marked on it, and a newspaper clipping. (17 Jul 1997-21 Jan 1999) 11pp and 1 item;

              Correspondence between Tim Robinson and Seán Ó Nualláin of the Archaeological branch of the Ordnance Survey. Begins with a handwritten draft of a letter Robinson sent to The Director of the OS about incorrect co-ordinates for Ballycasheen, Leana and Commons North recorded in 'The Survey of Megalithic Tombs Vol 1'. A reply from Ó Nualláin, and subsequent correspondence between the two parties about sites being destroyed by bulldozing of scrub. (27 May 1976-12 Jun 1977) 9pp;

              File of correspondence between Tim Robinson and Fr Ryan, Parish Priest at Sixmilebridge. Robinson is enquiring about about a number of earthworks around Lisdoonvarna that he believes to be barrows rather than forts, a subject Fr Ryan recently gave a paper on. Fr Ryan responds arranging to meet Robinson on the Aran Islands. In a subsequent letter, Fr Ryan describes the location of a cave that served as a hiding place for priests and their vestments, and encloses a map of the Burren on which he has marked locations of fulachta fiadh.               File of correspondence between Tim Robinson and Peter Harbison, Archaeological Advisor with Bord Fáilte. Copy letter from Robinson to Harbison on the subject of forts he believes are barrows, enclosing a list of sites. Subsequent correspondence discusses these sites, and refers to information Robinson learned from Fr Ryan. (17 Aug 1976 - 20 Feb 1977) 7pp;
