Material in this file appear to be duplicates of correspondence and legal documents relating to the various stages of the FX Martin (FXM) case. A Cover page lists out four parts: (1) "1977-1978 AG (FXM) v Dublin Corporation + Ors 1977 No 5919 P (1)", (2) "1979-1984 AG (FXM) v Dublin Corporation + Ors 1979 No 133P", (3) "FXM v Ireland 8569/79" and (4) John Paul v FXM + Ors", and includes photocopies of letters from International academics and experts to Taoiseach Jack Lynch 1979, reports, indices of various books of appeals and pleadings, copies of affidavits and handwritten case notes.

This file consists of material from a folder labelled "Drafts etc for "FX Martin v Dublin Corporation and others" and includes photocopies of translations of letters from Professor Janssen to Dr Anngret Simms, 23/05/1978, statement from several International experts recommending that the monuments visible through excavation be treated as National monuments and given fullest scientific archaeological excavation, 18/05/1978, photocopy of case for counsel, 10/04/1978, draft Notice to Produce, handwritten case notes and messages to counsel, press release from Royal Irish Academy, 06/12/1977, correspondence from 1977 from Irish Hotels Federation. This material was possibly used by counsel.

This folder contains six copies of the typed Decision of the commission [European Commission of Human Rights, Council of Europe] in the application of F.X. Martin against Ireland, 02/06/1985.
Personal letters from FX Martin to Mary Robinson, 07/05/1986, to Nicholas Robinson (NR), 12/05/1986 and to both 23/12/1986, which included a copy of a sketch by Dr Alfred P Smyth (APS) of the Wood Quay High Court Action in Four Courts, 29/06/1978. The pencil drawing included NR, FXM, Donal Barrington [SC], Liam Hamilton, Peter Addyman, Director of York Viking Excavations and Dr Hendrick Jansen, Director of the Svendborg Museum, Denmark. APS was another expert witness at the case.
