Material covers Mary Robinson (MR)'s election to Seanad Éireann which followed the general election (18 June 1969). Ballots were received between 04 July and 12 August 1969, and term ran from 5 November 1969 - 30 March 1973. MR was one of three candidates elected from Dublin University [Trinity College Dublin] constituency and ran as an independent.

Material consists of correspondence and election address flyers of MR and other candidates. Letter relating to 60th anniversary of Dublin University Law Society's formal recognition by Trinity College Dublin, and of the first Auditor taking office, sent by Mathew McCabe, Auditor, 61st session, to all "ex-Auditors" including Mary Robinson, and referencing plans to erect a plaque listing all former Auditors from 1934-1964. [Mary Robinson was Auditor 1966-1967, under her maiden name Bourke, was succeeded by her husband Nick in 1967, who was in turn succeeded by Mary's brother Adrian Bourke, in 1968. Mary was first woman auditor.]

Correspondence, and excerpts of minutes to TCD Board relating to Dubium from the Board to the University Visitors (Mary Robinson and Maureen Harding Clark) regarding whether reference to 1st and 2nd years should be changed from Junior and Senior Freshman to Fresh Students and/or Freshers and seeking approval for 2018-2019 term dates.

Email correspondence between Patrick Prendergast, Provost, Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Maureen Clark, [Pro-chancellor?] and Mary Robinson relating to Visitor's ruling on the dubium regarding Vice-Provosts to the Board.

Material relating to case taken by Dr Paul O'Mahony to Employment Appeals Tribunal against University of Dublin Trinity College (TCD) for unfair dismissal. Though he lost the case, the tribunal felt the main reason his three-year contract at TCD was not renewed was that the college employment policy changed while he was working there, and the tribunal added a rider to their judgement suggesting TCD rehire him. Material relates to decision by The Visitors [to the University] following an appeal against the decision by the Board of TCD not to respond to the rider. It is unclear from the material whether O'Mahony was rehired or given a different position. [Mary Robinson becomes one of two Visitors on being elected to Chancellor role in 1998.]
