File of letters between Garry Hynes and playwright Edward Bond and also between Jane Daly of Druid and staff of Margaret Ramsay Ltd. play agents, concerning discussions on rights to produce Bond's play, "Saved". Letter from Edward Bond to Garry Hines (sic) Hynes, stating he "is really happy the play is being done in Ireland" and outlines his ideas on the differences between a good English writer and a bad English writer, being an Irish soul, which he lays claim to. Also attaches a copy of letter to another adopter and translator of his work, offering comments on the process of that work, also a copy of an article on "the Reception and Adaptation in Germany of Edward Bond's "Saved""; Letter from Maureen Hughes, Artistic Administrator, Druid, to Margaret Ramsay Ltd., London, seeking permission to adapt and translate into "béarlachás - a peculiar corruption of Irish (Gaelic) and English, spoken in areas of the country where Irish rather than English is the spoken language." Antoine Ó Flatharta would translate the play and Garry Hynes would direct.
