Correspondence between Tim Robinson and Paul Keegan, the Classics Editor at Penguin. Includes some copies of Robinson's letters, cover letters that accompany several drafts (P120/3/1/4/3-7).

The correspondence begins 8 Mar 1989 with Keegan asking Robinson if he would consider editing Synge's 'The Aran Islands' for Penguin Classics, including choosing what version of the text should be used, writing a note on the text, an introduction. Subsequent correspondence includes the contract, discusses the role of Yeats and Lady Gregory and Synge's phonetic use of the Irish language (27 Feb-15 Apr 1991), a letter from Bernard Meehan, Keeper of Manuscripts at Trinity College Library on the subject of using quotations from Synge's notebooks (29 May 1991), and several letters enclosing corrections. Correspondence between 7 Sep 1995 and 8 Feb 1996 discussing terms. Copies of Robinson's replies are included.
