Correspondence between Eugene Davy, solicitor, Justice Liam Hamilton, and Mary Robinson as Senior Council in relation to payment of legal costs from the Attorney General Fund in adoption cases. Includes documentation relating to the costs in the case of S.M. & M.M. v Gabriel Murphy, Angela Doyle, Mary De Rici, St Patrick's Guild and An Bord Uchtala [Adoption Board], the case of J.B. & B.B. v An Bord Uchtala and St Nicholas Adoption Society and the case of M.C. and M.C. v K.C. and E.C. (includes photocopy of letter from MC in relation to her (adopted?) daughter, with daughter’s name and address). The stark difference in the costs allowed by the Attorney General in comparison to fees solicitors and Junior Counsel would be entitled to on taxation of party/party costs was raised by MR with Patrick McEntee, Senior Counsel, who suggested a representative number of cases be collected, and who undertook to appoint a member of the Bar Council to then engage with the Attorney General.
