File of correspondence between Druid Theatre Company and others concernig the media and marketing campaign for "Lover's Meeting", with outlets such as The Late Late Show, the Gay Byrne Radio Show and Irish national print outlets. Other letters include from Jane Daly to Phelim Donlon, the Arts Council, discussing tour plans for the play (17 Sep 1990); letters between Christopher Murray and Jane Daly, where Murray details the history and significance of D'Alton's play (Aug 1990); letter from Daly inviting John B. Keane to the Listowl production (17 Oct 1990) Letter from Daly to Brian Friel, inviting Friel to the Derry production, with MS letter of response from Frielsaying he will attend the play and thanking Daly for her kind words about "Dancing at Lughnasa", saying the definition of success is the postponement of failure. (22 Oct 1990); Letter from Dick Spring, T.D. written on initial letter sent from Daly, saying thanks for the invite but is engaged in his own national tour "with a production called 'The Next President', alias Ms Robinson." (11 Oct 1990); letter of acceptance to attend the play from M.J. Molloy, playwright, Milltown, Galway (1 Oct 1990); letter from Christopher Murray to Daly, where he describes "Playboy as the first piece of work to give the Druid its lasting reputation" and also describing in detail his thoughts on production of "Lover's Meeting' by Druid at the Gate Theatre, Dublin, where despite the high stage, "such simple, melodramatic material can be transformed into something so still, remote and moving.
