Letter from Jerome Hynes, Druid, to Haughey, thanks him for his recent visit to Druid and makes a direct appeal for increased funding for the Arts in Ireland and for a new theatre premises in Galway (19 Mar 1988); Letter from Haughey to Jerome Hynes, thanking both he and Garry Hynes for the occasion of meeting the cast of Factory Girls at Druid and thanks them for the presentation of a "very fine etching". (23 Mar 1998); Letter from Jerome Hynes to Maire Geoghegan Quinn, thanking her for assistance in organising the visit of Haughey and adds "National publicity was not possible due to Saturday's tragedy in the North". (22 Mar 1988); Text of press release drawn up by Druid detailing the visit of an Taoiseach Charles Haughey to Druid Theatre (20 Mar 1988); Fact sheet and information prepared by Druid for submission to office of An Taoiseach in advance of visit;
(5 May 1988) from Haughey to Druid, following visit by Haughey to Druid in Galway, states that "I have watched with keen interest the growing national and international critical acclaim which Druid has gained in recent years" and adds Druid are proof that an Irish theatre company can be rooted in Ireland but also be cosmopolitan.
