Diary of Denis Birmingham Kirwan, consisting of short notes by day. On 17 October 1914, the diary notes 'war news depressing – Antwerp taken'. Entry of 9th October 1918 notes the loss of ‘Poor darling Etty’ (Henrietta) who was drowned when the Leinster sunk. ‘She was buried on the 15th in Addergoole in my mother’s grave’. On 17 April 1921 ‘Two policemen fired at in Milltown last night but not seriously injured’.
