The lecture is a revision of his late 1930s lectures entitled 'Whither Ireland'/'Whither Rural Ireland'. In it, he condemns both economic liberalism and communism, calls the Great Depression 'an outcome of bankruptcy in the practice of religion', and states that the League of Nations was doomed to fail because of liberalism and the lack of inclusion of religion. Handwritten addenda mention the work of the Commission on Vocational Organisation (1939-1943) and the need for vocational organisation. Includes annotations, corrections, and addenda.
