Folder 1/4 Letter from Richard Gueterbock of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (London) to Ross MacMahon of Coseals Ltd at Roundstone following up on his recent trip to Connemara, and a conversation they had with Tim Robinson regarding the preservation of the Connemara peat bogs. Explains classifications like SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), a ANOB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and National Parks, and a new designation, the Environmentally Sensitive Area. Enclosures included maps and explanatory leaflets, and a photocopied article from Living Heritage, 'ESA's The Scottish Experience' by David Hickie from October 1989. (Aug 1990).

Twelve photocopies (A3) of site maps from the Connemara Bog Complex (Site Code 2034), from a survey on 9 August 1996. The maps outline proposed candidates for the special areas of conservation. Government leaflet explaining Special Areas of Conservation, and 2 press cuttings reporting on the matter.

An alphabetised list of local features for the townland of Eoghanacht, [Onaght]. Eoghanacht is in the Civil Parish of Árainn, Inishmore. Each card describes a feature, which range from geological, historical, and ecclesiastical. Each feature is assigned a number, which Robinson explains on the card catalogue, corresponds to a marking on one of his copies of the 6" OS map. For ease of use, this sub series of records is sub divided into alphabetical letters, which is exactly as the archives are presented in reality. There are no features beginning with the letters D, E, H, I, J, K, N, O, Q, V, W, X, Y, Z. Many people are thanked as being useful sources of information, most prominently Michael King. The townland of Eoghanacht is in the Gaeltacht.
