Bound volume containing observations, memoranda and accounts connected with Lord Crofton's estate in County Roscommon, by his agent John Carson. Memoranda cover the appointment of tenants, and the cutting of turf at Irmam. Accounts give details of receipts and expenditures. Rent comes from the townlands of Ballymurry, Ballinree, Corbally, Caleenbag, Carnamadda, Moneymore etc. He resolves a dispute over right of way between the Gatelys and Paul Keeffe and partners at Kilmury (20 Apr 1834) as well as copy leases to tenants. Also rent-roll and other particulars of part of the Ephin estates of Viscount Lorton agreed to be exchanged for certain estates of Lord Crofton in 1838 (pp 83 - 105). Also copy lease dated 1864 between John Carson of Egryn Abbey in the County of Merionethshire and the Rev. George Read Adam, of St. Mary's, Kilburn in the County of Middlesex. He allows Carson to mine and quarry on his lands at Egryn, within the parishes of Clanabar and Llanddwywe (pp 140 - 55). Partial index to tenants' names at the front of the volume.
