Correspondence from the public to President Mary Robinson (MR), with some photocopies of responses, 1992, including correspondence and transcribed phone messages relating to the X Case, [a landmark Irish Supreme Court case which established the right of Irish women to an abortion if a pregnant woman's life was at risk because of pregnancy, including the risk of suicide, which overturned a High Court injunction preventing a suicidal 14 year old rape victim, known as "X", from travelling to UK for an abortion] expressing dismay at the treatment of the girl, or dismay that abortion was being considered, and commenting favourably and negatively in relation to statement MR made as President, (20/02-11/03/1992); correspondence relating to the Anti-Live Hare campaign which had reached France and where the public were being invited to write to MR, with cover note from Peter Ryan, secretary to the President, asking MR if she wanted to raise it in a meeting with the Taoiseach, (03-10/9/1992); letters of thanks for flowers and condolences sent by MR including from Irene Barber on death of her daughter Jane, 12/06/1992, from Eddie Grace who according to second letter from his son Edmond was dying, 01-17/09/1992, from Nuala [Lane?] who thanked MR for presence of Aide-de-Camp Capt Hynes at husband Victor's funeral, 02/10/1992, and from Robert E Biggs on death of his mother, 14/11/1992; letter from Dr Michael Turner, Master, Coombe Lying-in Hospital, with report on developments at the hospital of which MR was Patron, and raising issue of need for additional funds, 28/10-05/11/1992.
