The Taibhdhearc sent up some display panels, and the exhibition seems to be a great success.

Correspondence relating to the possibility of funding from An Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge with the Secretary of the Taibhdhearc. Includes letter from Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire, Secretary, to Coireal Ó Mathúna, stating that the Congress had met with Prof. Ó Briolcháin and that it had been decided that, while the Congress had great interest in the work of the Taibhdhearc, that they were unable to fund a project which was already receiving government funding (8 Nov 1953) [in Irish].

There is also correspondence relating to a failed attempt by the Taibhdhearc to extract money from the Department to buy the store at the back [in Irish].

Contents of a folder of correspondence between An Taibhdhearc and copyright agencies relating to the performance rights of plays produced by An Taibhdhearc during these years, including the translation of plays into the Irish language. Some correspondence is with the authors of the plays. There are also occasional letters seeking copies of scripts. Includes correspondence with Mrs O’Casey in New York relating to the staging of "The Plough and the Stars" in November 1980 and 2 letters from David Krause concerning the staging of the same play in 1942 (4 June 1970 & 25 Oct 1978). There are letters from John B Keane to Coiril O Mathúna about the production of "Big Maggie" in the Irish language (1970-1971) and a letter from Eoghan Ó Tuairisc to Coiril O Mathúna enclosing some biographical details (25 May 1974). Three signed memorandums give the details of agreements between Tom Murphy, Samuel Beckett and Brian Friel and the Taibhdhearc over the translations of their plays "Famine" (6 Feb 1974), "Waiting for Godot" (8 Oct 1971) and "The Mundy Scheme" (22 Sept 1971). The correspondence about Cristóir Ó Flóinn’s play "Cluichí Cleamhnais" begins at least two years in advance of the production when Cristóir Ó Flóinn was asked by the Taibhdhearc to write a play for their Golden Jubilee year. Also includes reference to the production of "Cinder Eile" in Dec 1980 and a request to stage "Lucia di Lammermoor" in the Abbey in 1980. [in Irish and English].
