[Archivist’s Note: Patrick Finucane was a Northern Irish lawyer who specialised in criminal defence work. Finucane came to prominence due to his successful challenge of the British government in several important human rights cases during the 1980s. He was killed by loyalist paramilitaries from the Ulster Defence Association (UDA), acting in collusion with British security services on 12th February 1989.]
Copy letter of reply John Wilson Lynch to Winterbotham, Gurney and Co, stating that he may be forced to sell some of the railway stock, as he had received nothing from the property yet, although most of it has been sold to the Land Commission. His trustee Capt George Lynch Staunton has to sanction the sale of the railway stock.
Reply of Adjutant General(unnamed) to the O/C 1st Western Division chastising him for the action at Gort, how is was carried out, asking for names, ranks and addresses of Free State prisoners taken and details of weaponry and asking for statement from the priest who witnessed the incident.
