Report authored by Markus Casey for Kilsaran Concrete, Dunboyne, County Meath. Casey was commissioned to inspect the site of Kilsaran's proposed Clonard Quarry at Kilrathmurray, County Kildare. Casey found no clear evidence of archaeological sites that would be disturbed by the expansion of the quarry but noted that it was possible that evidence of archaeological material remained within and beneath the area under development and recommended the employment of a licensed archaeologist to oversee excavation of material within specific areas of the quarry during soil-stripping.
Description of an attack by an I.R.A. unit of Western Mayo Brigade on a column of R.I.C. and Black and Tans from Newport. Losses were taken and the unit withdrew, followed and engaged again by British forces.
