A folder of accounts and letters written to William Wilson Lynch, relating to the running of 5 Clare Hunt Balls. Wiliam Wilson Lynch was the honorary secretary of the Hunt Committee.
Three contact sheets and corresponding negatives featuring 54 images and 27 images respectively, see P99/2/30 for further negatives .
Images taken on Clare Island, and are slightly blurred. Included are images of a grazing horse, M. J. O’Malley, Ciara Cullen, two little girls identified as Beibhin and sister, and surrounding imagery.
File of research and manuscript notes by Etienne Rynne as part of a lecture delivered by Rynne to the Royal Society of Antiquaries. An earlier text of a published article by Rynne included is entitled "The Swastika at Ennis - Symbol of the Resurrection". (North Munster Antiquarian Journal, 32, 1990). Includes extensive notes and research by Rynne on the history and context of the Swastika symbol. Also letters between Rynne and the Royal Society of Antiquaries regarding the planning of the lecture; letters between Rynne and Swami Yogi-Anand, an Indian scholar of swastika symbols (with colour photograph included of Rynne with Yogi-Anand and family.
File 2 includes photographic prints of stone carvings in Ireland which include swastika symbols. Also overhead images used by Rynne in lectures on the topic as well as a body of published research material used in research by Rynne.
