'Stones of Aran: Pilgrimage'
UGA P/P120/3/1/2 · Sub-SubSeries · [1984]-2001
Part of Personal

Manuscript material on the creation and publication of 'Stones of Aran: Pilgrimage'. Early drafts show 'Stones of Aran' was originally intended as one book, to include a 'Preface' establishing the solitary and social sides, 'Itinerary' to cover the two coasts, 'Labyrinth' to cover the fields and paths, and a personal 'Postscript'. These drafts show the evolution of the idea, with 'Itinerary' becoming 'Pilgrimage', and the expansion of the project to become two 'Stones of Aran' books, 'Pilgrimage' published in 1986, and 'Labyrinth' published in 1995.
