File of letter and fax correspondence concerning disputes between Druid Theatre Company and the Quays Bar. Includes correspondence between Druid (Jane Daly, Garry Hynes) and Leonard Silke, detailing the non-settlement of legal costs by Sean McDonagh of the Quays, as instructed following case in 1990. Also includes correspondence between Jane Daly and Galway Corporation concerning an objection lodged by Druid to a planning application for development and expansion of the Quays Bar. Correspondence also shows the reaction to neighbouring businesses in the area to the redevelopment.

Letter from Jerome Hynes, Druid, to Sean McDonagh, the Quays, re. noise destroying recent rehearsals (1 Jun 1987); Letter from Hynes to McDonagh re. noise levels for run of upcoming production (22 Jun 1988); series of letters and fax between Jerome Hynes, the Quays bar and respective legal representatives detailing on going issues between both parties and details of interventions made by all parties in efforts to resolve the disruption issues to performances (Sep 1986 - Apr 1987); Signed settlement terms between Druid Performing Arts Limited and Sean McDonagh at the Western Circuit Court, Galway. Copies also included. A document from the case entitled "Indorsement of Claim", signed by solicitor Leonard Silke, on behalf of the Plaintiff, Druid Theatre Company"; Document, typed with MS annotation sent to Garry Hynes, labelled "First Draft" and outlines reasons and evidence to begin legal proceedings against the Quays Bar (23 Jul 1990); Copy letter from Silke to Sean McDonagh informing him of instructions given by Hynes to make representations against the Quays (23 Jul 1990); Letter from Jane Daly, General Manager, Druid, to Garda Siochana, Galway, outlining an official complaint against the Quays (24 Jul 1990); Letter from Silke to Daly stating the Equity Civil Bill has been served on Sean McDonagh with further details of the process made clear (25 Jul 1990) Further correspondence present between Garry Hynes, Leonard Silke and Ferry Solicitors acting for Sean McDonagh regarding this issue further through 1990 and also referencing efforts to intervene in the case by Ollie Jennings of the Galway Arts Festival.
