Material relating to Mary Robinson (MR)'s attendance at "Freedom of information and the audio-visual revolution" colloquium organised by The European Policy Unit, European University Institute (EUI), Florence 18-19 May 1989. It includes correspondence, in English and French, between MR and Antonio Cassese, Department of Legal Sciences, EUI, in relation to logistics for attending colloquium, and with programme and list of participants, 20/02-28/04/1989; correspondence to Peter Sutherland, in French, from Louis Edmond Pettiti, Judge, European Court of Human Rights Strasbourg, and Lawyer, Court of Appeal, Paris, France, 27/02-21/04/1989, which his secretary Judy Harper faxed to MR, which related to a colloquium "La Liberte D'Expression, conquête révolutionnaire" [Freedom of Expression, a revolutionary conquest] taking place in Paris to mark the 200th anniversary of the French revolution, which clashed with the EUI colloquium, 03/05/1989; paper "Freedom of information and the audio-visual revolution: Case-law under the European Convention on Human Rights", HC Kruger and M Buquicchio-de Boer, 02/05/1989; background material including report from European Commission of Human Rights "Autronic AG against Switzerland", 08/03/1989; transcription of MR's "interventions" during colloquium, sent by Cassese and A Clapham, joint editors, with handwritten corrections made by MR, 08/06/1989; work application form from University of Florence, sent to MR which was completed and return via fax, 19/07/1989; declaration of expenses for colloquium, completed by MR and sent to EUI, 23/11/1989.
