Letter to Tim from Mícheál Mac an Rí (17 January 1981), in Irish, written in cló Ceilteach. Social letter.

Copy handwritten letter from Tim to Brendan McWilliams (1 May 1989) about the phenomenon of rainbows with spokes, his understanding of the phenomenon, and wondering if Brendan can advise him if he's correct.

Letter to Tim from Finlay MacLeod (30 Oct 1989) thanking him for his comments on a few pieces of writing.

Letter to Tim from John [McQuillan and Brown] (24 Jan 1991) broaching the idea of a film about map-making, and prompting questions such a film might hope to answer. "Are you a latter-day [Thomas] Colby?...How do you reverse the Anglification of Irish place names, does O'Donovan come into your equation?" He also references Richard Long, Hamish Fulton, A la Recherche Du Temps Perdu.

Correspondence between Tim and W J McCormack of Trinity College relating to an upcoming publication 'A Companion to Irish Culture', (5 Mar - 8 August 1991). McCormack's first letter thanks Robinson for his Synge introduction, and notes he has a few comments to pass on to Anthony [Farrell]. He proceeds to invite Robinson to contribute to 'A Companion to Irish Culture', and encloses a list of the placenames they wish to include. A copy of Robinson's reply agreeing to take part, and enclosing a few notes on placenames. The final letter is from McCormack, and encloses a revised list.

Handwritten letter to Tim from Fergal [McGirl?] (4 January 1994). He is enquiring about Aran's monastic past and looking for information.

Letter to Tim from Alf MacLochlainn, and copy of Tim's reply (13 May 1994 - 3 June 1994 (dated '93 in error). MacLochlainn's letter picks up from a difference of opinion at a recent meeting of the Galway Archaeological and Historical Society, on the subject of Brian Friel's 'Translations', and the need for a debate about orthography. A copy of Tim's reply exploring the idea of orthography.

Handwrittten letter to Tim from Maureen McCabe (6 Oct 1995), a visual artist based at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, and suggesting they might meet to discuss each other's work.

Letter from May McClintock to Máiréad (4 March 1997) seeking information on Glencolmcille in the Burren. She is preparing for 'Donegal 1400' - the 14th centenary of St Colmcille.

Letter to Tim from Sinéad McCartan (6 August 1997) hoping to arrange a talk in the 1998/99 programme of the Belfast Natural History and Philosophical Society.

Copy letter from Tim to Tom MacIntyre (31 October 1997) thanking him for forwarding on his Irish poems and complimenting him on them.

Copy letter from Tim to Sheila and Frank McGinity (5 May 1998) thanking them for their recent hospitality, and mentioning some of the high points of their American trip.

Letter to Tim from Fiona MacGowan (8 January 1999) enclosing a copy of the map she created while working on her PhD thesis on the impact of human-related activity on the vegetation of some of the Atlantic blanket bogs in the Connemara region. Copy reply from Tim giving permission to use his map, and requesting that she use the Irish names, "at least of the lakes, rather than such barbarisms as L. Nabeeba!"
