Notes the low prices for butter and other produce, that her health is not the best in present, but that his father is in his best health in years. Updates on family members James Shaughnessy, Martin Moloney. Reminds him not to forget the photographs he promised.

She enquires after his cold, which the whole family caught from him. Notes "the men are making great progress on the wall". Updates him on stories about the children, all of whom are very young.
