Headed paper says 'Agency of the London Assurance Corporation', Booth is writing from Paso Robles, and agrees to take charge of O'Shaughnessy's house and arrange new tenants. He notes that although rents are low "...I believe there is hope of a revival soon - after election - I cannot believe that the majority of people are fools".

Handwritten letter to O'Shaughnessy from A R Booth (Booth and Farnum Real Estate and Investment headed paper), 5 Jan 1897. Acknowledges receipt of his letter including map of the Madalene Moore ranch, and wonders if it has farmable land with it, as he has a party interested in acquiring land that can be divided into smaller parts.

Is having difficulty in finding a tenant for O'Shaughnessy's house, and recommends that it be left unoccupied until it can be painted.

Small file relating to the painting of the O'Shaughnessy house, including a signed agreement from [C J Tucsolen] who is contracted to do the work, a handwritten memo from Booth recommending his work as being a low quote, an account statement for Booth's services, and a letter to O'Shaughnessy accompanying the statement advising on the work he's had done to the house. The last letter is dated 18 [Nov] 1897. The other items in this file are undated.
