File includes 'Book of Words' tour information booklet for cast and crew members; Application to the Arts Council prepared by Druid Theatre Company for 'Tour of Major Prisons 1987'; Memo discussing the funding of the Prisons Tour 1987 by Druid Theatre Company; A review of the prison's tour following its conclusion, prepared by Druid, which also includes a breakdown of costs such as wages, set, lights etc. and also comments such as grateful support from the Arts Council but refusal of support for the tour from the Department of Justice. (item 4); Selection of TS letters to Druid from Con Hayes, Governor, Arbour Hill Prison (19 Feb 1987) Vincent Sammon, Educational Service to Prisons (20 Mar 1987) and [Nessa] Durcan, Education Unit, Cork Prison, ( 25 Feb 1987) all adding comment upon the recent Druid tour to the respective prisons (item 5); Group of letters and comments written by prisoners in respective prisons, primarily Arbour Hill, giving detailed accounts of their thoughts and opinions on the play and on Druid performing in a prison. (Feb - Mar 1987 - Item 6); Group of press cuttings with reviews of the play, a flyer advertising the touring production and also TS and MS letters including a telex from Emelie of Graffiti Theatre, wishing Druid well with the tour; letters from Druid to Vincent Sammon and Nessa Durkan discussing arrangements, schedules and staff lists for those who would be present at the prisons from Druid for the productions. Also a letter from Jerome Hynes to Phelim Donlon of the Arts Council, Dublin, attaching the above named report and comments on the Prisons tour. (14 Apr 1987) File also includes correspondence between Jerome Hynes of Druid and Kevin McCaul, Derry City Council, discussing a confirmed touring production of "Conversations on a Homecoming" at the Rialto Entertainment Centre, Derry and discussing travel, costs, budgets and production schedule.
