Scope and content
Brief giving the title of Robert Hedges Eyre of Macroom Castle, County Cork, to part of the lands of Modeshill, County Tipperary. It notes that the lands were leased by Robert's elder brother Edward to John Corrley, his coachman on 29th May 1788. This lease was to run for three lives, and Edward also promised to pay £30 a year on a sum of £500 to John. In March 1813 Edward, son of John leased the lands and the sum outstanding on the loan to Mathew Campbell for £950, and the following year Mathew leased it to Sir David Perier and Daniel Callaghan, distillers of Cork. Robert claims that the lands are discharged of the lease and the loan.
